Going Green Has Never Been More Important

UPDATE:  Our Project was awarded "Community Project of the Year 2010" by the Alamo City Council of Governments!!

Every summer approximately 150 kids and 100 adult volunteers spend a week at Camp Discovery having fun, learning new things and growing and developing as people.

The camp is open to Texas residents, ages 7-16, with a cancer diagnosis.  These are great kids who for that week of camp are able to meet and have FUN with others who share their experiences and who understand the unique challenges that they often face because of their illness. It takes place annually in July at the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, TX and is sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

For 2010, ACE Technologies has volunteered to bring an ambitious project to Camp Discovery.  We want to help the kids build an all-electric vehicle at camp.  The project will include education on alternative energy and the important role it has on our future. Being a former cancer survivor myself who received support from the American Cancer Society, I am committed to making this project a success.

I need your help.  We need to quickly obtain the materials and funds necessary to build this vehicle.  The project is more than just an educational experience; it is also a chance for the kids to give back to Camp Discovery.  In October, this special vehicle will be auctioned off at the annual Cattle Baron’s Gala held by the American Cancer Society.  We hope that this project will continue to grow over the years and like the electric cars we will be building continue to sustain for the future.

So far we have the overwhelming support of the Alamo City Electric Auto Association (www.aceaa.org) and financial support from several of its members.
